Welcome
September 6th, 2009Daim
December 10th, 2009German artist Daim who first started graffiti in 1989 has since become one of the biggest names in the scene. Along the way Daim has travelled all around the world, taught graffiti in schools, had his work shown in exhibitions, released a book and travelled all over Europe and to the US to show his work.
A great deal of his work is 3D art which he creates on interior and exterior walls, canvas, vehicles and he also has time to work in animation and sculpture. Daim has even entered the Guinness World Record Books when in 1995 he participated in creating the highest ever graffiti art.
Highest graffiti art, painted on building in Hamburg.
A Flickr group with a collection of his work can be found here.
His official website is here.
Early photography
November 17th, 2009Here are a couple of shots I took in Barcelona a couple of years ago. These shots are from Park Güell which was designed by architect Antoni Gaudi. His work can be seen all over Barcelona and his designs are fascinating. The below image is a walkway named “La Ola”. Supported by these twisted pillars of rocks it is said to represent a wave and is just one example of Gaudi’s interesting designs.

Next up we have repeated ‘viewing seats’ where people would look out onto the city. Gaudi’s intricately detailed mosaic designs are shown on the back of the seats, with the whole area held up by these giant pillars.
Useful tutorial
October 9th, 2009Here’s the tutorial which I used to add the texture to my blender logo that some people might find useful. It shows you how to create glass, chrome, gold and brushed alloy textures with just editing some values so it’s easy to tweak it to suit yourself.
Site Graphics
September 16th, 2009When designing the website, I had to create a background image and header image before uploading them onto my site. For the background I used a blender logo that I created in blender. I rendered the scene at an appropriate resolution before using Inkscape to take a vector trace of the image. With a little tweaking of the colours I came to something I was happy with.
